  • 01/28/2023
  • 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Tropical Acres Steakhouse, 2500 Griffin Rd, Ft. Lauderdale

Join the SASSF Board, Members, and Friends at the 2023 SASSF Robert Burns Supper on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023  from 6-11pm at our wonderful new venue, Tropical Acres Steakhouse.    This will be a special night as it will be our first in-person Burns Supper since Jan. 25, 2020!

We have established a SASSF Members-Only price of $60 for our Burns Supper, while the Non-Member/Guest tickets will be $70.    SASSF Members have been emailed a special Members promo code to enter when purchasing tickets that displays the members tickets.

You may purchase the SASSF 2023 Burns Supper Tickets online with credit card or PayPal at:  https://2023sassf-burns-supper.eventbrite.com.   You are also welcome to pay by check made out to “SASSF” and mailed to Renee Campbell, SASSF Treasurer, P.O. Box 16441, Plantation, FL 33318.   Please include a note with your name, email, phone number, number of tickets, size of party, and names of those you want seated at your table.  We will email your tickets once we receive your ticket order.

Tropical Acres Steakhouse is located at 2500 Griffin Rd, Ft. Lauderdale – just west of I-95.  They have much greater capacity than our former venue and free parking – so be sure to invite your friends!   In addition to the traditional tasting of haggis, neeps, and tatties, dinner will include a buffet of garden salad, pasta salad, chicken francaise, vegetable lasagna, sliced roast beef, broiled lyonnaise salmon, with parsley potatoes, chef’s vegetable, and dessert.   There’s something for everyone!

We will start out the evening with a social hour & cash bar from 6-7pm, with a little Scottish Country Dancing  led by SASSF’s own Rinthy Aman.   Our formal Burns Supper ceremonies begin at 7 pm with the Piping of the Haggis. After a dramatic reading of "Address to a Haggis" and Selkirk Grace, we'll have a taste of haggis, neeps & tatties, then enjoy a buffet dinner with Burns melodies played by fiddler Don Hicks, followed by the traditional toasts, pipe and drum concert, more Scottish and social dancing, and fabulous raffles!  Our evening will conclude as we join together in fellowship singing “Auld Lang Syne.”
