Virtual Tartan Day

  • 04/06/2020
  • 12:00 AM - 11:30 PM
  • Online & At Home

Please plan to join the virtual celebrations around the country on April 6th of the U.S. National Observance of Tartan Day and the 700th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath. The  our local festivities and the NYC Tartan Day Parade may be cancelled this year, but we can still let our pride in our Scottish heritage shine through.

We may not be able to meet up in person, but we can share our personal celebrations by posting photos, videos, etc. in our tartan finery - or PJs, for the many who are likely working from home.

"Gather your pipes and bands and play your wee hearts out, record us a Celtic tune on your fiddle or accordion, sing or recite you favorite Scottish poem, recite your best Burns quote! Don your ghillies, dance around swords, fold yourself in to a yoga position or two in a kilt, wag your furry tails! Young, old, two legs or four, we want to hear from all of you!"

At the American-Scottish Foundation states, "COVID-19, you may take our parade this year, but you’ll NEVER TAKE OUR PRIDE! Alba Gu Bràth!

Post your pictures on the SASSF Facebook Page and at the American-Scottish Foundation
