This is a correction notice and apology:

The Board of Directors would like to apologize to the competing pipe bands for a mix-up of the announcement of Pipe Band winners for the Grade IV and Grade V pipe band competition on March 3rd 2012 at the 29th Annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games. We also would like to thank the Pipe Majors of the winning bands for their tolerance on the field as they watched the Drum Major of the day lead of the band that was announced in their place by mistake. It could have been a very unpleasant experience for the viewing public if there were protests on the field.

Thank you all and please accept our apology and gratitude.

The paperwork supplied to our announcer had the order in reverse. The actual order of competition results is as follows. Thankfully the announcement, trophy presentation on the field and march-off ceremonies were the only mix-up. The trophies were eventually put in the correct hands.

GRADE IV

First Place:  City of Sarasota

Second Place: Harp & Thistle

GRADE V

First Place: Fort Lauderdale Highlanders

Second Place: Nathan Musamano

Third Place: City of Melbourne
